Leading direct-to-fan and global events discovery platform Bandsintown is launching a new WATCH LIVE feature designed to help artists and fans connect as the number of online concerts greatly expands during the COVID-19 shutdown.

With WATCH LIVE, 530,000 registered artists on Bandsintown can now promote their live-streamed shows on their favorite live streaming platforms at no cost to the 55 million Bandsintown registered fans. Artists will be able to promote on their own Facebook pages, Instagram stories, or other sites surfacing Bandsintown’s events listings such as Amazon’s Alexa or Billboard.com.

Bandsintown’s direct to fans free messaging platform is also being used by many artists to stay in touch with their most engaged fans, the concertgoers.

“Artists and fans are already missing the tribal experience that live shows create. We all must do whatever we can to keep that feeling alive as well as help artists in these difficult times,” said Fabrice Sergent, Managing Partner of Bandsintown. “WATCH LIVE and a new Bandsintown Live music channel on Twitch are the first of many new initiatives from Bandsintown.”

WATCH LIVE will begin rolling out free on Bandsintown For Artists next week.

Bandsintown, the leading live music discovery platform, is on a mission to help artists grow their career. Just in time for SXSW, Bandsintown is announcing a new round of six Big Break artists, five of whom will perform at an official SXSW showcase, along with Jay Wile, a 2019 program alum.

Since September 2017, Bandsintown has looked for artists attracting followers (called Trackers on Bandsintown) at breakneck speed, jumping from a few hundred to several thousand fans over a period of six months. Once brought into the program, Bandsintown promotes them for a year, and provides mentoring, training, and industry-specific tools to help them take their careers to the next level.

Past Big Break artists include Peach Pit, Bones UK, Cautious Clay, and YUNGBLUD. Full program info here.

“Bandsintown connects 530,000 artists and 55m fans, all registered to the platform. We can spot who’s making serious headway in attracting audiences at a very early stage of their career, sometimes even before music streaming services, as artists now tour first,” explains Bandsintown Managing Partner Fabrice Sergent. “We call it ‘data-driven,’ but that really means fans are choosing these excellent artists by engaging with them.”

"Being one of the Big Break artists with Bandsintown has been really impactful to my career at an early stage,” says Jay Wile, who has continued to gain momentum thanks to the program. “To be able to build a relationship with their team and have support from them around my releases have helped me reach new audiences across the world. With their help, I’ve been able to perform in major markets, gain new fans at my shows, and make impressions that will last a lifetime."

This Big Break class features:
Aidan Gallagher (youthful, hooky singer-songwriter and star of Netflix hit “Umbrella Academy”)
Kelly Finnigan (tender, gritty soul)
99 Neighbors (melodic hip hop & production collective)
Baby Rose (earthy, soulful R&B)
Liily (fierce, disruptive rock)
Renforshort (raw electro-inflected pop)

Bandsintown offers Big Break artists:

Free Promotion across Bandsintown and its affiliates
Showcase opportunities at industry events
200,000 messages to live music fans
Free one-year subscription to CelebrityAccess, the top professional source for touring industry contact information and news
Free access to Cyber PR LABS, a series of recorded video Master Classes where you can learn from industry experts
A one-on-one mentoring session with an experienced music marketer, booking agent or manager

Get Me To the Show!: Bandsintown and Waze Partner to Make the Ride to the Concert Easier

Leading global concert discovery and live music marketing platform Bandsintown, is announcing a new partnership with Google’s Waze, the transportation and navigation app. Concertgoers can now find the quickest route to the show with Waze, harnessing the power of two free-to-use, very popular platforms that put community experience first.

“We want to bring people together via live music,” explains Bandsintown Managing Partner Fabrice Sergent.  “Bandsintown sends millions of fans to concerts and adding Waze to the Bandsintown experience adds another technology layer to make such experience smoother.”

With over 2.5 million events published annually on Bandsintown, there is a show for every type of music fan. After fans buy tickets for the concert of their choice, they can simply click the “Plan Trip in Waze” button directly on the event page to get to the show faster, safer and happier.

Waze's real-time, community-sourced navigation helps drivers find shortcuts and avoid unexpected road closures, construction, or anything else that might stop fans from getting to the show on time. Now there will be plenty of time to grab a t-shirt and find a prime spot in the front row before the stage lights go down.

"We always want to make sure drivers reach their destination in the quickest and safest way possible," said Adam Fried, Head of Global Partnerships at Waze. "Partnering with Bandsintown through our Transport SDK will make it easy for concert-goers to arrive at their destination on time - spending more time enjoying their favorite band and less time worrying about issues on the road."

To celebrate a record year of growth with 55m registered users, and 530,000 artists sending fans to 2.5m events in 2019, live music discovery platform Bandsintown is offering its artists an Artist Year in Review for the first time. The Year in Review gives a snapshot of 2019, aggregating their live performance, fan response, ticketing information and creating a powerful window into their career and fanbase.

Available to every artist and management team registered on the Bandsintown For Artists platform, the Year in Review covers a wide range of data, from miles traveled to fan hotspots. It’s designed to help artists pinpoint what actions are prompting the best fan response and what initiatives might lead to an even more successful 2020.

Bandsintown is the only artists’ platform offering this kind of data related to concertgoers’ activities, such as tickets clicks and RSVPs to shows. “Bandsintown offers a trove of data in a meaningful but very accessible way. It is a big part of what we contribute to the artists’ community and success,” says Bandsintown Managing Partner Fabrice Sergent.

Year In Review is part of Bandsintown for Artists, the leading global “direct-to-fan” platform in the music world outside of music streaming services and social networks. The free platform enables artists to publish tour dates, message fans without filters, and access valuable insights. Thanks to the Year in Review, artists can share milestones with fans, such as their most anticipated show of the past year; the number of venues, cities, or countries played; and growth in followers, called “Trackers” on Bandsintown.

“We believe that live music brings people together through unique communal experiences and creates happiness and understanding in the world,” reflects Sergent. “Data are means to this end, and we are excited to share them with artists.”
