Events discovery and marketing platform Bandsintown is offering artists who have registered with Bandsintown for Artists free access to Twitch’s monetization tools. Beginning this week, artists with more than 2,000 followers on Bandsintown Concerts will be able to monetize their live-stream performances on Twitch via paid fan subscriptions, with fans who tune in being given the option of purchasing virtual “tips” known as Bits. Bandsintown is additionally hosting a virtual music marathon on its Twitch channel on Thursday (March 26) and Friday (March 27) for eight hours each day, with all donations going to the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund. The company will also be holding "mini marathons" featuring two to three acts every Thursday over the next several weeks.
